English Spot mix
Age: 4 years 9 months
Weight: 6.3 lbs.
Melina was dumped at the shelter in August 2006, shuffled to an adoption program then back to the shelter.
Melina has evolved into a spunky, spirited rabbit who is enjoying her quiet environment and her new bigger cage in foster care. When out of her enclosure, Melina loves to be petted and will hop up to her foster family for pets.
Melina has some insecurity about food which will require consistent behavior, patience and understanding. Her foster mom is willing to provide pointers to set Melina up for success in her forever home.
Her foster family has discovered that Melina loves sugar-free papaya tablets. Melina has progressed to the point where she does binkies when we walk into the room and takes the papaya tablets from our fingers very gently. This is tremendous progress for a rabbit with food insecurities!
Melina has developed a special friendship with one of her foster mom's rabbits through a shared barricade. Melina would do well in a pairing situation with the right rabbit. Melina would thrive in a home under the care of a person with prior rabbit experience. Can you provide Melina a forever home where she will be loved and cherished on her terms?
