Gunther’s story began with heartbreak — abandoned in a tiny cage without food or water until animal control stepped in and gave him a second chance. Now, safe in rescue, Gunther is proving just how full of life, spirit, and attitude he really is.

Gunther is a total foodie — he loves all food: treatos, pellets, hay, and especially fresh greens. Food is his love language, and he’ll definitely let you know when it’s mealtime (or even just should be). He’s incredibly smart and has a gift for communicating — his expressive side eye says it all! But don’t worry, he’s all bark and no bite.

This little guy loves to toss toys and has a deep affection for his activity bench — it’s his favorite spot to run through, nap on, or enjoy his salad in peace like a true gentleman.

Gunther has faced some health challenges due to his early neglect, including an upper respiratory infection. He recently underwent a sinus flush procedure and is already feeling better. When he’s not feeling great, he may get a bit grumpy, but who wouldn’t?
